Fire Cider for Flock Health

Fire Cider for Flock Health

One of our favorite natural tonics on the farm is Fire Cider—an immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory, respiratory-supporting herbal blend that’s easy to make and trusted by generations of herbalists and chicken keepers alike.

This simple homemade recipe was passed down to me by an organic farmer in 2015. Since then, we’ve given it to our chicks from the day of hatch and through all stages of life—with incredible results. Fire cider supports digestion, respiratory health, and natural parasite resistance while giving your hens rich, golden yolks.

  • 2 large pieces fresh turmeric root (chopped or shaved)
  • 2 large pieces fresh ginger root (chopped or shaved)

  • 2 lemons (sliced)
  • 4 cayenne or similar red peppers
  • 4–6 cinnamon sticks
  • 10–15 drops food-grade oregano oil
