Cedar Crest Farm Featured in Fox 8’s “Superior Farm Fix-Up”

Helping Heal the Earth—One Chicken at a Time

This week, Cedar Crest Farm was honored to be featured on Fox 8 News as part of their coverage of the Superior Farm Fix-Up—a project led by Food Strong to transform a three-acre property in Cleveland’s Superior–St. Clair neighborhood into an urban farm and community space.

During the segment, our own Lisa Marie joined Kenny Crumpton to share how our chickens will play an essential role in regenerating the land. As she explained, the project will use rotational grazing, where sheep graze the land first and chickens follow behind. The chickens’ natural behaviors—scratching, pecking, and fertilizing the soil—will help restore nutrients and bring new life to once barren areas.

“It’s not just about growing food,” Lisa said. “It’s about healing the earth.”

The farm isn’t just a garden—it’s a space for community, education, and renewal. By combining sustainable agriculture with community engagement, Food Strong is planting seeds that will nourish both people and the planet.

We’re proud to support this mission and excited to see our chickens contribute to something truly transformative.
